I just did a pushup

I’ve never done a pushup before.

I’ve never been able to.

This was once demonstrated in an assembly about fitness where I was put on stage and told to do ten pushups in front of the entire 8th grade.

I just did a pushup.

I can do pushups.

This is my friend Emily singing ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele. She’s absolutely amazing.

I was a really awkward, relatively disliked middle-schooler. She was always wonderfully nice to me and that meant a lot.
